04 4.8 fuel pressure regulator

Thanks all are good.im thinking intake gaskets  hopefully next weekend weather nay be better or have it diagnosed

The only hard part is the fuel line rite, i have the tool and the 10 or 12 bolts and unplug a few things  yes all bolts are there

All bolts are tight looked at it today and got the gaskets.  Why are these a common problem does anyone know  thanks

Does anyone know why these intake gaskets fail is it just age, i pick up gaskets and will do after work during the week

It's a rubber o-ring style gasket, they flatten out over time along with all the hot/cold cycles. It's going to cause a leak someday.

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you on here at the time I have not replaced my gaskets yet but if I'm on the highway going 65 in overdrive and a very slight pressure on the gas pedal the truck will shape does that seem like the vacuum leak what caused that just on throttle tip-in

Is the 2004 4.8 L intake manifold gasket leak a very very common issue with these trucks and if so why

That is a possible egr problem

I don't think I have one

And there isn't one going to the exhaust on either manifold

Well,not the first time I'm wrong,so focus on left bank,per code,test intake gasket with water in spray bottle,rpm change? during test?,not a perfect test either,can't get at underside ,other, swap 02sensors,side to side,see if code follows?

Is that driver or pass side if your outside the car is bank 1 on the right looking at the engine from the front

I answered your question already Scott, a few posts up about why they leak.

 

Bank 1 is drivers side, bank 2 is passenger side.

 

EGR was phased out after 2000-2001 on the 4.8/5.3/6.0's.

That's where I always mess up,returnless fuel system,no egr, return system,yes,g.m. always emptying the parts bin, before a change,got to keep on your toes with this stuff,I'm still thinking about getting a horse,lol
