I have a 2019 Chevy 3500 Duramax that always shows the engine light on when the ambient temp goes wacky. I have had it changed twice in three months by the dealer but the light comes back on within a few days. Can you tell me if there is another fix to try? I appreciate any further insight you can provide.

I just cut an air flow hole in the bottom of my mirror......therefore it cools down the heat built up inside the mirror sitting in the hot sun......corrects temp much faster now....

Not sure I would want to do this on my new truck, but do you have any pictures? I would like the ambient outside temp sensor to be as accurate as possible, but by placing the sensor in the passenger side mirror housing, it will never be all that accurate, the environment of the road will always add several degrees to the reading, no matter where the sensor is located on a vehicle. After parking my truck a few mornings ago, with the outside temp being in the mid 40s, I noticed when I got back in the truck the display showed the temp reading as 88F, due to the fact the sun was heating up the passenger side mirror, as a result my AC and ventilated seats came on, even though the temp was in the 40s. I feel that the proper placement of the sensor is still in the front grill in front of the radiator , my Honda Accord even allows you to make adjustments to the outside temp reading +/- 5F or so, which would be nice in this case as well, but wouldn't solve the fact of the AC coming on in the situation I mentioned above, would be nice to be able to re-locate the temp sensor.
