You may want to rethink that one, most every modification we all do on our trucks is one way or the other caused by wanna look and perform like a Raptor syndrome. I’d buy one in a heart beat if it wasn’t for the fact my current 1500 is the best truck I’ve ever owned, especially with the CST Lift and Suspension, ok the 6.2 has something to do with it too.

One thing is for certain, I’d race a Raptor on the street but not on an OffRoad strip cause no matter what we do to our GM suspension, it’s never going to be equal to a Raptor. Think about it though, if we had Raptors there would be no need for performance suspension and motor upgrades, The End!

I have seen their shock cut away from fox 2.5 they ran a few years back and piston was same size as Bilstein 5100 (much smaller shock) ….wouldn't take much to build any truck to compete and beat it...certainly wouldn't cost no 70k... ford gambled and it paid off, for OEM it has most capability but certainly isn't anything specail that anyone couldn't do to their own truck....and suspension/motor upgrades were here b4 and will be here after raptor, its just what guys do, lol

Buying a $60+ loaded out 1500 then doing a high quality lift, suspension upgrades along with wheel and tires will certainly get you over $70K. Even with my CST lift kit and CST coil overs and piggy backs can’t even come close to a Raptor. Go drive one, they’ve got computerized suspension systems that tame some of the toughest roads which wouldn’t matter if you had $15k in upgrades on a 1500, still wouldn’t even come close to the Raptor. Only thing I don’t care for in the Raptor is the width and the V6, otherwise, I would’ve had one in my driveway instead of my 18 SLT.

I have rode in stock and one heavily modified raptor ( both upper and lower arms replaced with king 3.0 bypasses fr and rr)

raptors are full MSRP (some cases more) and GMC are 20-30% below MSRP so already way ahead,  talked to few suspension tuners and not hard to replicate what they have and surpass...king 3.0 triple bypass rear and 3.0 IBP coilovers (bit stiff for street if not custom valved) around 5-6k with UCA"s, ....but hey to each their own....we just disagree on routes we would take and that's fine....just said I didn't think its worth 70k.....

but yeah I would rather have 6.2 for sure,

Welcome bud. I like the eco boost. I prefer the sound of a v8 though.

on a side not. Put your truck in off road mode, 4wd, and turn off traction control.  Launch from a stop and that sucker flys!
