Newbie From Ford to GM

I have been a Ford guy for many years and have been pleased with the trucks I have owned. This weekend, I traded my EcBoost Limited 4x4 in on a 2019 Sierra Denali with the 6.2 engine. I was very impressed after checking into the redesigned 2019 GMC trucks. Time will tell, but so far this new GMC checks all of the boxes for this long term (loyal) Ford owner...

Welcome to the Dark side. What year was your Limited ?

I had a 2017 with 70k miles on it.

Welcome. How do you like the 6.2 so far?I am going for it on my next truck.

So far, I love it. Seems to be very responsive and loads of torque.

How does the 6.2L compare in drivability/responsiveness to your Ecoboost?

I have a 2014 6.2L and it’s been a blast, but I'm cross-shopping all the brands for my next truck.

I was a Ford man... then a GM... then back to Ford via Toyota.... My Ford 2.7 Lariat drove me crazy with blown radiator and oil leaks... I have a 2019 ‘18 GMC 1500. I don’t see the downside of trading two turbos for two pistons.

I think the fit and finish is better on my '18 GMC than my Lariat. Ride is not as good... but so far not in the shop. Very pleasing to me that GM has perfected the pushrod like it has. Sweet!

Welcome aboard - as my fellow Texan said - not perfect but damn near! Been driving Silverado’s since 1974. Had a 1992 F250 for 3 years and went back to GM. You bought a nice one so congratulations and best of luck.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

The Eco Boost was a great setup once you get accustomed to the turbo lag.

I did not experience any issues with mine other than a few minor recalls on the first generation. I had 3 different EcoBoosts; a 2011 3.5L, a 2014 3.5L and a 2017 3.5L.

I must admit, I do enjoy the rumble of a big V8 in a truck for sure.

Which one feels quicker/more responsive/more fun to drive?

Glad to hear you made the switch....@ 200K and beyond it will become very apparent imo.  Most GM owner are accustomed to taking their trucks 200K+ that includes SUV's too.  You have a nice Truck and welcome!

Hard to say really. The both drive very well and the ride quality is great on both trucks, considering that we are talking 4 wheel drive four door vehicles.

I think I was ready for a change mostly. The Fords have been the same on the interior since 2015.
