Water in rockers and floorboards

Recommended Posts

2020 Denali crew 1300 miles, just noticed today a sound of moving water as i pulled away from a red light. Usually have radio on so haven’t heard it before. Checking under my factory all weather mats and found wet carpet in driver passenger and rear driver side, rear passenger felt damp a little. Checking the under rear seat tray it was dry. Front areas seem wetter and than rear. Also when slowing down can hear water moving in both left and right rockers. Anyone else have something like this going on . We have had some severe rain in the past few weeks. Going to dealership tomorrow

Ok, so i park on the street(so always angled passenger down), when i first start moving(vehicle begins to be level) i hear water moving. I never though of it, i always been running GM weather mats. I will check my truck.

Is it actually in your rockers? mine sounds like its coming from the fire wall.

Now that you bring it up. it could be coming from  under dashboard but i have heard it moving as i come to a stop and then move again on taking off. Oh well I dropped it at dealership today and they said they bring in a water intrusion specialist for leak issues and he would be there Wednesday to check it out. So will update when I know something

ok truck at dealer today is day 8, and the only thing they tell me is they resealed rear window last week and the water specialist will be back in a day or two, said they were not in hurry cause they had to order all new carpet and car interior is gutted (his words). I asked to speak to the tech doing the work so I will see if he calls me and update

Shoot that’s not good. I have seen several other posts here about the rear window leaking. Nice to hear the dealer is taking care of it properly however.
