Crap radio.new head unit options??

Its completely blank. Has frozen in past. Anyone successfully change out the head unit to an aftermarket? I know when I research them it says "not recommended "... help!

I have found the same thing you have, not recommended. I'm still on GM to fix my TrailBoss radio, replacing the cable from radio to display this week hopefully, 3 radios and a touch screen later

Well I'm gonna be a Guinea pig for everyone I guess and replace it with an Alpine, cant malfunction worse than it is already...

I don't know for sure, but I think the only reason they don't recommend it is due to all the "safety alarms" go thru the radio and speakers

Look into the marstro rr kit. If you get a radio that is compatible you will have access to the trucks features. If you have a bose system you might need a add on interface.

Definately go with maestro rr and not pac, it’s way easier, replaced radio in suburban, retained every factory button and option

I have miracast for the phone and the headunit controls the phone. Android auto wireless, video in motion. Rear entertainment for the kids. Adding headrest dvd players and will connect them to the headunit.
