Navigation Card clarification please!!

Hi everyone,

  A while back I read a thread regarding the install of navigation cd card and going to dealer for an update, I this  something that can be done? To clarify I have a 2019 LTZ , but not with all the bell's and whistle  I.E. does not have Nav......And is there anyone here that been thru this process??

It is discontinued but you still can get them if your dealer's ADI has them in stock.  LTZ has the correct radio to do the upgrade in it standard.     

 

We did a 2020 here (also discontinued).  The card is $495.  It is a .5 hour install so the dealer should charge you for 1/2 hour of labor.  P/N 84531832.  They will have to call their ADI as it will no longer show up on the dealer's interface to them as an orderable item.    

 

The dealer has to call in the authorization, install the SD card, then reprogram and setup the radio, then reprogram the instrument cluster.

The kit has been discontinued but my dealer found a card without the book for me and installed it in my 2020 Silverado LT.

Total was a little over 600 bucks.

The dealer couldn't figure out why the kits have been discontinued. Weird.

I like the navigation setup.

You don't have to have Onstar or any subscription for it to work.

Both part numbers seem to be discontinued but I have been able to find both listed for sale, the 84531832 says "contact for availability"

If you'd rather use googlemaps and a phone ( with AndroidAuto or CarPlay) -- google maps will let you download map areas so that it can be used without having to maintain a cell signal.

Also can be used to keep it from having to re-download map info even it there is a signal.

Just Had the dealer do the software update today to have the Navigation installed. It took me a day of calling dealerships across the USA to track a navigation card kit with authorization code. That’s the most critical. You need to have the authorization code. The cards aren’t so hard to find. But the “ Kit “ with the code is. I must say it’s a nice interface and works well. I have no idea why GM/Chevrolet cancelled or discontinued the kit. But if you can get the kit it does work well.

Ha!  I figured there'd be one left somewhere sitting on a shelf collecting dust.... but like you said, no way other than randomly calling parts departments at dealerships and asking.
