Some one spun in front of me in turn 1 and I hit him at about 65-70, bent anything to do with steering and then went airbourne and landed on the rear tires and bent the axle and lost brakes, I had no control so I hit another kart at about 50, spun and backed into the fence at about 30...I was watching the speed on the MyChron the whole time.

That tire is not sitting on the stand.

Steering components

Notice the steering wheel position compared to the tire direction.

All in all the frame and most of the kart except the computer (MyChron) and the engine/clutch is all trash. The right front is pushed up some (havent measured) but it is also pushed back 3/8"

Im about to spend $2,000 on a new roller and another $500 on a new body, wheels and tires. Enigine is right at a grand, clutch $200-$300 depending on what you get. Tach(RPM and CHT) is as low as $50 to about $200. But, mine is considered a data acquisition device(RPM, CHT, EGT, water temp, laptimes, datalogger, ambient temp, speed, gear position) it was about $500 and they go up to upwards of $2000. The more expensive ones can record everything else plus steering position, throttle position, 2 axis accelerometer, and track mapping ability

You could by a new shifter (most expensive type that is common) ready to race for about $7000. You can get a new ready to race 4 cycle setup for $4000. The used stuff is the best bet. You can be ready to race for less that $2000 with used stuff.

**EDIT**

The paint job was free. Gotta love sponsors.

Now as for expensive.....

I dont know how much they cost but these 2 were pitted next to us at Roebling Road Raceway. The white one has a Honda 250cc oposed twin GP street bike motor. It was hitting 170 on the straight at turning times of 1:17 That is faster that ALL street cars and a good bit of race cars at Roebling. Oh yea and that kart stand picks the kart up by itself too...

d**n! That's a lot of money!!!

I dont think so. If you ever drove one of these carts I'm sure you'd understand where the $$$$ goes. Heck, I have that much tied up in 1 quad. If I was not into 4 wheelers, this would be my next expensive hobby.

Well there is progress but it is slow because I have quite a few karts to help get prepared for Daytona International after Christmas.
