not sure of the brand of mine but I ordered it from Americantrucks.com, I bought it over the others because I wanted one side that didn't lock.

Let's just say, these aren't as "safe" as you think they are...IMG_0109.thumb.jpeg.74b54fbe30d09e056d9b95c5293a9233.jpeg

None of them are going to keep out a determined criminal. But most will keep smash and grab punks, crackheads, etc out long enough to be a deterrent

That was PRECISELY my line of thinking, before this happened in a busy Academy Sporting Goods parking lot in the span of about 90 seconds...using this screwdriver.

Don't get me wrong, when I got my 2020 Trail Boss I got another safe, but I definitely got one that has the lid gap covered with steel.

Which one did you get? I just ordered a console vault last week this makes me rethink it. I would like one that has the gap covered as well.

as you can see in the pictures on mine there is no gap, there is about 1/2" of steel that overlaps the side with the lock. I am certainly not saying someone couldn't get into it...but I dont see you doing it with a screwdriver and not in that quick of a time.

I’m taking my safe out. It came with it when I bought the truck. I prefer the storage space without having to get all my crap off the lid.

I certainly hope no one is robbed while their firearm is all cozy safe and secure. Probably should of just left it at home, at least that way the perp can't beat you to death with it.

Numerous studies have shown that if a perp is under 21' away you'll be going hands on anyway. Better to be in top physical condition and learn how to defend oneself verus relying strictly on a tool .

By that same rationale I suggest being in top shape to defend yourself with your tool. If you’re carrying and don’t train for it then what are you even doing? Setting yourself up for failure. Self defense doesn’t end with stuffing a gun in your waistband. Learn to be proficient with it.

I want a safe to keep my firearm in, because I don't carry mine everywhere. I don't think  most of my clients would appreciate me coming  in packing. I could conceal once my license comes in, but if it prints at all and I get called out I could lose a client. Of course, here in SW Louisiana everyone is armed, so it might not matter. However, I deal a lot with the diocese, other churches, and local government.
