First gen 4l60e comparability

I have a 1999 Silverado 1500 4x4 extended cab with a 5.3l motor. My transmission went out and me not knowing all there is to know about the 4l60e went and bought the first gen 4l60e with the removable dust shield that came off a 1995 jimmy. Will that fit my truck? I know of three different 4l60e’a and I believe they are all different?

No. You don't want to be putting a v6 4l60 behind your 5.3l.

 Thank you Brian 715. But is it still compatible with my engine can I run it as a Band-Aid if so how can I do that does it need other components different tour converter etc. etc.
