2002 escalade engine complete cut out.

2002 Cadillac escalades, no codes thrown, under normal driving conditions occasionals complete engine kill. No stuttering, no missfiring,  just un expected complete engine cut out. Dash has full lower still, lights still work, all other functions of the vehicle seemed to be operational. When this happens, no restart possible. No starter engagement, nothing.  After the vehicle sits for a random amount of time, it will crank over and start.  Ignition relay and starter relay have been replaced. No idea where to look.

Given that the problem is random, both in when it happens and how long the duration is, makes diagnosing the problem more difficult.

 

All I can suggest is having tools (both wrenches, as well as electrical testing equipment and the full service manual (either paper or online and have laptop with you with internet access), and when it happens, to go through the no-start diagnostic procedure in the FSM.
