Choosing a dealer for service

For one reason or another I have purchased vehicles over the years from distant dealers and have had those vehicles serviced by a local dealer.  I only had one problem with that and it was in 1977.

I am now about to pull the trigger on a GMC 1500 Denali.  My question is from the start can I take it to the Chevy dealer that is very close to my home for service and warranty issues?   It would be much more convenient than the GMC dealer plus I have used this Chevy dealer for over 20 years and like how I am treated.  Obviously having the oil changed is different than having the leaking window fixed.

CAN I TAKE MY GMC TO ANY GM DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS?

Repairs must be performed by an Authorized GMC dealer, except in a situation where you are significantly inconvenienced and when a covered part or a GMC dealer is not reasonably available to the vehicle owner. It’s in your best interest to take your GMC vehicle to a GMC dealer for all repairs since they are the most knowledgeable about your vehicle.

This is from the GMC website.

Sounds like you a have a good relationship with the dealer, I would just check with them ahead of time to be confident on what you might have to do.
