Purchase a new 2020 or used 2019 Suburban?

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to purchase a new 2020 suburban or a used 2019 suburban.

Options: New 2020 LT suburban 2nd row buckets. $51,000+TTL or 2019 Suburban  LT 35,000 miles 2nd row buckets $39,000+TTL

Plan on keeping it for around 4-5 years or so. Will be putting less than 10,000 miles per year on it.

Can't decide which would be the better financial option in the long run. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks,

CH

If the 2019 truck came with the warranty past the 60,000 miles then that would be more up my alley.

Someone already took the major hit price wise and you could get it for far less, plus it's only 1 year old. Saving $12,000+ and having a lower payment is a win to me.

Welcome to the site.

That is a lot of miles for a one (soon to be 2 year model) year old truck.

I would for sure look for services records, the miles are a big hit already for resale, better finance rate, full warranty (and the ability to buy a better extended) if you go new.

And piece of mind knowing who has put almost every mile on it since you drove it home.

If you are strictly looking at financial, there is probably a 14K difference in cost.  With your driving style you'll still have 2.5 yrs of powertrain warranty with the 2019 model, see if you can still purchase the extended bumper to bumper.  Even with the purchase of an extended warranty and the remainder of your powertrain warranty, you'll probably not pay close to 14K for non-warranty maintenance when you're finished with the truck in 5 yrs.  I have a 6yr old LT (Tahoe), have not spent anything for mechanical, yet.  Now my hood and roof paint is another story, different thread.

I think  its worth negotiating  a new  one to its bottom dollar. Its a buyers market right  now. You can can 0% financing. Thats a bonus right there

Went to a dealership this week that had around 30 suburbans on the lot here in Texas. Ended up getting a great deal on a 4,000 loaner 2020 LT suburban with the second row captain chairs. MSRP was a little over 60,000. Got price down to 47,100 before TTL. Definitely a buyers market right now.
