2018 Chevy Silverado Programmer (Chip)

Hey all,

Any recommendations on a chip for my 6.0? I’m mainly interested in removing the cylinder deactivation when you get to cruising speed. I don’t plan on upgrading anything in the engine. My only plans are getting a cold air intake and a dual exhaust.

Some people have recommended a Bullydog (heard these are better for Dodges), EFILive (heard these are good for GMs) and a Diablo. I was also just thinking about going to the Chevy dealer and having them put in a programmer.

I have used Diablo Intune 8245. I turned off cylinder deactivation and bumped idle up 100 RPM when in drive. I have had a shitty idle from day one. Runs smooth now at stop light. I did run their 87 tune but did not like it. The truck began to ping under light load so I returned it to stock. The tune was never my intention. Just the idle.

The 6.0 in the heavy duty trucks does not have displacement on demand/active fuel management.

That engine only has variable valve timing. So there is nothing to disable there.

A dealership isn't going to add a programmer for you.
