Any tips for wrapping bowties

Recommended Posts

I did mine a week ago and never really liked how they look up close. From a few feet they look fine but I'm a picky F'er.

I don't think they were going to last anyways around the edges, its not stuck all the way.

I used some cheap ebay stuff called Oracal too.

So I ordered some real 3M quality stuff this time.

Question is how do you get it to contour around the edge of the bowtie? Heat?

It's actually kind of fun to work with but I wish I knew it's limits.

Thanks guys [emoji40]

A blow drier works just fine for 3m. I did mine over the winter in a skull pattern. 3m works like butter when heat is applied. That said. Don't press too hard with your fingernails or credit card as it'll run through.

Apply the sticker from the middle outward. Then heat and smooth from the middle outward.

Also,

Leave a little extra overlap the edges. After forming the sticker onto the step down use a butter knife or something thin while applying heat and gently tuck into the crease. Razor away the extra

Yeah like Snow said. Use a little heat and it will go on smooth. I did mine in Realtree and it has held up like a champ for about 3 years.

I got mine from etsy. Overlapped the rear slightly. I cut the front short to show a slight gold border around it. Left it out in the sun for a few hours.
