Jeremy Charles Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 So my 2019 trailboss did not come with a rear 12v or 120 port so I ordered these two, found an empty plug below just under passenger side rear that had a cap on it, the harness fit perfect plugged in the 120v outlet (I though it was going to be a 12v port) and nothing. So all parts are Oem, all fit, so my ?’s are 1. do I just need a 12v port as I may not have an inverter installed 2. do I just need to add a fuse in the box somewhere, like maybe not installed from factory since it wasn’t being used saw a similar post but didn’t look like he was using same harness
brianf60 Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Check the owners manual to see what fuse would power the 12 volt outlet and check see if the fuse is missing.
Jeremy Charles Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 Thanks for the tip, went to dealer today and they said they don’t even have a 12v plug, just he 120v I have, and I’m pretty sure since mine didn’t come with it, there is no inverter to make it work, think I’m just going to test what power I have at the plug end and just make my own
Phatty Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Im in the same boat, I want to run 300-400w inverter in the bed to charge my ebikes while driving, torn between wiring the 12v in the bed and plugging into that or just wiring the inverter straight to the battery. Id like to hear what power you have from this plug (15 amps?) or if I should just do my own straight to the battery (inline fuse of course).
davester Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 For charging, you might want to see if there is a DC charger for them, as it'll be more efficient that way.
Jeremy Charles Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 Adding for a 12v cooler, I’ve been lugging around a big 12v battery
Guest Phobby Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 This is real easy. Gm part numbers Part No. : 19201995 -the 12v adapter Part No. : 19352640 - the fifth wheel seven way for in bed. 7 way plugs have power all the time on these trucks. you can mount the plug in the bed wherever you want and have 12v power.
