Small Tick in Steering Wheel Upon Acceleration

Recommended Posts

This might be normal, who knows anymore. But when I start accelerating, only from a complete stop, I feel a slight tick in the steering wheel. Not necessarily a vibration, more so a tiny movement or click. Anyone had this before?

No sir, I do have a leather creaking type sound when turning then wheel though, its faint. I tried lubing the shaft "no pun intended" but it didn't do much so I turn the radio up and can't hear it. Haven't owned a vehicle yet without some kind of annoying noise be it Honda, Toyota or Chevy so I live with it.

My 2019 Sierra does this as well. I have no idea what it is, but your description is spot on.

Glad im not crazy! It becomes super noticeable. I'm sure it is nothing bad. Are you bringing it to your dealers attention?

No not at this point. I only have ~7000 miles on mine. But if it gets worse over time, then I’ll take it in before warranty runs out.

Same. Mine has 7500 miles. It's nothing major, just bugs me.
