I am in the south (Mississippi) but travel a LOT of dusty/muddy roads and have had no issues. All of the components are marine rated, so you should be fine!

There is a tilt switch integrated into the wiring harness so that it automatically shuts off when the inner tailgate is closed.

This looks like a pretty slick solution for the tailgate! I didn't get the kicker system since it looked cheap to me.

 

How is the Bluetooth range? It looked like the antenna was mounted on the tailgate on the website but I don't know if thats something I would want to do.

 

I'm assuming as well that the volume is controlled by the phone or device being used to stream to it or is there a volume control I'm missing?
