Just got my renewall letter from Farmers and they've just jacked my insurance up $55 for a 6 month policy. (total 554.50)

Never filed a claim with them and only recent change was 1, paying off my truck and 2, moving 2 miles east from an apartment and into a house.

What up with dat?!

Who do you guys have for insurance, any recommendations/warnings, etc?

All of us get our insurance from Country Companies because it is the cheapest we can find, plus it is a decent company to get it from.  Since we are farmers all of us qualify for farm rate, which is a considerable amount lower than most other people pay.  I don't have any other experience from any other companies to recommend anything else.

I have Liberty Mutual, I'm 16,(no bad point on record at all) and my Insurance is around 600 a year. I'm on my dad's plan, but I pay my part, which is the above amount.

Alot makes a difference as to where you live, the distance you drive to work, your age and marital status (not to mention if you have recent claims or violations).

My wife and I drive less than 2 miles to work, haven't had a claim (ever), and we have no "points" against our licenses.  Both of our vehicles are insured for 10K miles/year or less, and we're in our late 30's.

I drive a 2001 4x4 HD2500 crewcab LT and she drives a 2002 Honda Odessey EXL-RES and I have a $23k policy on my 1998 32' Jayco travel trailer.  My insurance premiums through Electric Insurance are $97.00/ month.

We have General Casuality, My truck is an '02, My wife's Gran Prix is a 99, I'm 27 with one claim last year (don't ask) and I had a ticket in 05/00 that I don't think they should know about because I paid for court supervision. My wife's is 23 and her record is clean. Our insurance is $129 a month for both vehicles.

My luck lately has been unbelievable and recently I hit a turkey buzzard  with my truck and put a dent in the front of the hood about the size of a softball. Now my agent says if I turn it in they will probably cancel me because I've already had a claim in the past two years

Sure is nice that I can't even use something I'm required by law to have.

I went with Anpac because they had the lowest rates.

My truck is $359/6-months with $500 deductible full coverage insurance.  Now that was before I was married, it will probably drop some now.

Before we were married, liability and whatever else required by law on my wife's Cutlass Supreme was $150/6-months.

If you have your homeowner's insurance with them, they'll refund 25% of your first year's premiums after 3-years if you make no claims.

After dealing with a local insurance "broker", I got  :( and went with Allstate.

A bud I have known all my life is my agent, and they now have my house, life, car, and truck insurance.

I pay about $450 every 6 months for slightly better than law requires w/ $500 deductible on my 99 Z71.  For a 2002 it is $38 more a year.

For referrence, our 1996 Honda Accord LX 4dr is $406 every 6 months.

Progressive.  Paying $245 every 6 months for the truck. $250 on comp and $500 on collision.  I can't believe my truck is more than the 'vette ($225 every 6 months) with the same comp and collision. ???

Alot of it depends on where you live.  I'll tell ya right now, Auto Rates in CA have increased dramatically.  This is on a commercial & personal level.  My premium went from $1200/year for just myself (single female, 25 yrs, no accidents) to $1700 a year at my renewal.  I went up $500 a year for nothing!!! Just becuase auto rates have increased.  Be lucky if this hasn't effected you.

Yeah it really depends on where you live, here in Vegas insurance rate are horrible, especially because so many a$$holes get into accidents here without insurance and so everyones rates are affected by it.  I only drive a few miles a day, have no claims on my record, or any bad points and it cost me about $3400+ a year for full insurance.  Of course I am 20, male, and single so I have that all going against me.    ???
