Mpg loss with gm performance exhaust?

I’m considering two different AT4’s. One with and one without the GM performance package. CAI and cat back exhaust.  Both 6.2. I’m assuming for the additional horsepower the cost is miles per gallon. How much?

There will be zero difference in mileage. Your foot is going to control what you can achieve.

 

Just because the exhaust and intake add maybe 10-15 horsepower doesn't mean it takes away fuel mileage. It's still going to take the same amount of horsepower to keep the vehicle at speed with or without those modifications.

So is it worth $2300?  That the only option and cost difference between the two trucks I’m considering.

To me, no way.

 

An aftermarket intake if you think you needed one is a $400ish. Then if you wanted a different sound just swap mufflers. You could be into that total for less than $600-700 for both things.

All things being equal other than the intake and exhaust, you should see an increase in MPG, although extremely marginal.  MPG will all be based on the weight of your foot otherwise.
