Popping at high rpms LH6 5.3

Hey y'all I have been trying to find an answer to this online and I cant find one so I figure I would ask here.

 

I drive a 2007 Silverado 1500 4x4 and recently it has started popping in high rpms. If I roll onto the throttle it doesn't pop but if I give it gas fast it pops. A check engine light with the code p0451 also came on around the same time as the problem started. it will pop anywhere over 3k rpm. A friend told me it could be spark plugs, or that it could be running lean. 

 

Anyone else have this problem?

He's on the right track. I would replace the plugs if you have no known history on how old they are.

 

And check fuel pressure if you are able too.

I think its an ignition problem because it started misfiring on the way home today and all i can smell is unburnt fuel. Ill replace the plugs and see if that fixes it. the other theory i have is the PCM is going bad. the stabilitrack and traction control were acting weird today too.

Possible broken intake valve spring,scan that thing,find the cylinder,pull that valve cover off and inspect

Why not solve the P0451 code first?  Why throw money not where the computer is telling you the problem is?

The plugs needed to be replaced anyway. the wires are also in bad condition too so ill be replacing those too
