2004 Z71/LT 1500 CrewCab - When?

I see on the Chev Corp web site and this forum, there is some news on the new 4x4 1500 Z71 and LT configurations, but not very much. On this forum there is an picture of an "all black" Z71 4x4 CrewCab short box.

1. Would that same configuration be available in "all white" as well?

2. Which configurations will offer "Power Seats" 8 or 10 way both sides? I assume the LT will; but what about the Z71?

3. Will full Leather be offered both front and back seats?

4. Any news on the top end audio systems? Specifically, power, speakers, etc?

5. What engines will be in the new LT and the Z71?

6. What type of "steering" will it be? "Rec Ball" or "Rack and Pinon"?

7. Will the 18" new wheels and tires be available in the first runs?

8. Most important of all, what month can we expect the vehicle?

So far, all but one of the Chev dealers are completely unaware that the vehicle will be going into production. The one dealer that does seem to know about the new truck is guessing January?

Does anyone have any facts?

Well, if it's any consolation, I'm wondering the same thing and having a hard time finding an answer.

That crew cab Z71 shortbox looks like just the vehicle for me.

Hopefully, someone has heard something.

 Well here are some links on the Chev Web Site that has been there a while; but I figure most have seen it. At least, it does show colors other then black.

Still need a ton more details of course.

The link above shows Z71 outside and the LT inside, nice big seats with 10-way power both sides YES

And the link below should show all the color Z71 color choices, all of this is from the Chev web site, nothing new really

Thanks!

I'll be waiting to see more details from GM.

My decision will be between the Titan, the F-150, and the Z71/LT 1500 Crew.

I'm the yuppie that everyone here hates, but I do live out in a very rural area and I need some hauling (family, boat, and firewood) and 4wd (duck hunting) capacity. Whichever truck delivers at the lowest cost wins.

I like the looks of the GM, though.

Thanks again!

well traditionally, at least around here, the blue oval is cheaper. But I pose several old cliques- you get what you pay for and pay a little now or a lot later.

I will give credit where it's due though, the front end of the f150 is a far cry from the older versions. I can't really speak about the Titan, but my Rado has been a good workhorse for hauling yard equipment and towing on rare occasions. It is quite the capable daily driver.

Just wanted to back Silverado99 on the subject of getting what you pay for. I have owned a Ford, and hated them. With only 80k miles, my lil Splash needed an engine overhaul. Left a real bad taste in my mouth. I've driven the crap out of 98 and 02 Chevy's and they hold up to the test of time. My theory is drive'm like you stole'm. But I like to go fast!

Also, in regards to the Ford....be sure and check the bed before plunking down the $$. It seems to me that thing is so high it makes getting stuff in and out a pain for some people. But yeah, their front ends look ALOT nicer!

Good luck

The actual vehicle that you see in that picture is a concept truck. For production pics, go to Chevy's website.

The all black paint job, the 18" wheels and lifted suspension, the 6.0 345 HP engine, those are just add ons that most likely will NOT make it to the production truck. Go to chevy.com and click on Silverado then click on 2004 1500 Crew Cab Preview and they will show you what the actual truck is going to look like.

Most likely, the truck is coming out in early Jan 2004, and will be available in the same configurations as the ext. cab, ie LS and LT. I have heard that the 5.3 will be the only engine available, the 4.8 and the 6.0 WILL NOT. I'm still waiting on prices, but expect 1500 to 2000 more than the ext cab.
