Jason stew Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Can anyone help me with this, i have a 2019 Silverado LTZ with 16001 miles on it. When slowing down to come to a stop, there is a loud bang, and you can feel the truck shake coming from under the bed area. However it doesn’t always happen, seems to happen on longer drives as opposed to shorter drives. I’ve had the truck at the dealership, but they weren’t able to replicate the banging, while driving it. Thanks
Jason stew Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Moend Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I had similar issue on my 2000. I know its 20years different but worth trying. It was the slip yoke. Had to grease it up every 20k moles or so
Jason stew Posted September 27, 2020 Author Posted September 27, 2020 Thank you, have to give it a try and see if it works
cltsig Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 8 speed transmission? I hear those can bang and be rough.
Gangly Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 if its under the bed, I would check the slip yoke, u-bolt brackets to make sure the rear axle is secured properly, as well as u-joints. U-joints shouldn't be going bad this early, but they can cause a loud clunking sound, especially on a hard downshift or upshift.
