how do you adjust/ set dampner tension on the multipro tailgate torque rod. the bolt was removed then replaced on rt side that tightens down on the torque rod, now there is no EZ down or UP. IT JUST SLAMS DOWN. UGHH

THIS!

I've wondered if there was an adjustment. Multi Pro feels old school needing a serious lift ...

I miss my electric up/down Chevy tailgate.

I've noticed my MP tailgate is well dampened when the temperature is cool. When it's hot I get a bit of a slam. Not too bad but definitely noticeable.

I've no idea on any adjustments.

I know for the non-pro tail gate, you cannot adjust the torsion bar.

I would assume that it is the same for the Pro-tailgate. I would check and see if it was tightened in the correct orientation. You have to remove the tailgate from the truck to do this properly, Flat side up.

I had to have my tailgate replaced..... we won't talk about why. But the body shop didn't know that there was a couple things to do. Remove the plastic cover and on the lower right side of the tailgate, there is a 8mm cap head screw. Mine wasn't tightened at all. I held the tailgate as high up as I could while I had an Allen wrench in there and tightened it down. Now my tailgate is a nice slow drop. Hope that helps.
