So i was going thru the old sticker rpo sticker in the glove box and found out that my truck is running on a 3.08 rear end and im sure its the 10 bolt 8.5 i will check in the morning but my question is can i upgrade to say something like 4.10 with out changing out my driveshaft or spline i need something better then the 3.08 for towing a travel trailer

The driveshaft has nothing to do with a gear change so that is fine.

You'll need a new gear set and bearing kit for the rear end. Would be a great time to still a good rear locker like a Tru-Trac instead of what is likely an open rear diff that you have now.

Pick your rear end gears based on your needs and what engine/transmission and tires you are running.

4.10's will have high cruising rpm than something like a 3.90 or 3.73. If you have larger tires then going to 4.10's would be better too. Don't forget to do the front if you have a 4X4, otherwise nevermind that if it's a 2WD truck.
