This is being approached at the wrong angle. I’ve probably towed 1,000,000 miles with different vehicles. Mostly with the same trailer. My concern was always stopping. So I focus on trailer brakes. And the ability for it to stop it self, the load and the truck. I’m pretty aggressive so the speed limit was the goal. As aggressive as I am I don’t drive 80 empty. Free country you want to drive 80, fine. As many times you’ll need to get gas over distance at that speed. I’ll probably beat you to the destination going the speed limit. I’ve done all the testing. Wind drag is a ******. At that speed the frustration level would be peaked by trying to maintain that speed. Few people drive that fast. You’ll spend half the time being angry. Driving at night would probably be the best time for that speed. Tires will run cooler. So will the vehicle. You’ll have to gear it. Probably 411-456. There’s that gas problem again. Probably falling asleep wouldn’t be a problem.
