Took one of our farm fleet trucks to get serviced and decided to do some runs with the 2.7L Turbo. All I can say is I'm so darn impressed with this motor. We have about 30 trucks in fleet ( mostly Gm) and decided to get some 2.7s instead of the 5.3 this year . and this motor is fantastic and never let us down.

MPG is really good when your not driving like me :) and the acceleration would make you think its the 5.3 . I love the 5.3 nothing against it but GM has a nice motor on their hands with this 2.7 . No way in hell a regular person would guess its a 4 pot.

It's just that wimpy small engine sound that i cant stand.

Fair assessment ,  I agree the sound is not burly like the V8s we are used to . Interesting enough I don't hear tons of Turbo noise either. Curious what the difference is ( if any) between this motor and the ones the Caddy uses which is rated @ 380 LB feet of torque

I think GM will up the HP/TQ in this little motor for the 2022 model year. It’s a brand new motor and it has a ton of potential. Those acceleration videos are nice and without listening to it. You would think it’s an older 5.3. The new 5.3 is pretty stout and moves quite well also. My stepdads 2020 with 10 spd impressed me. Nice videos

I also think the 10 speed for sure helps as well . Especially when shifting , it goes right back to peak torque so there is no lag. SO maybe the 2.7 also gets the 10A for 2022

Agreed. I hope GM goes 10 spd across the lineup. I’m amazed they still have the 8 spd available. Especially with all the issues it had in the past.
I was so close on pulling the trigger on a 2016 Camaro S.S. with 11k miles on it last year before I bought my new High Country. But that d@mn 8 spd had me second guessing. Glad I choose this new truck instead.  No regrets, the 10 spd has been flawless
