Repairs 3 weeks ago... Was consuming close 4 qts of oil between oil changes. Replaced oil pan gasket.

Had EVAP code. replaced EVAP canister. Evap code came back a week later.

When it went back to GM I was told I needed CAM and Lifters replaced but they recommended just replacing Engine to the tune of $7700

Took to a reputable shop and got a second opinion yesterday. They say there is low compression on #2 cylinder and also recommended engine replacement. $8600

like the truck and cosmetically it’s in excellent shape. But am I doing the right thing by moving forward with the engine replacement. Will I damage anything by driving it as is till it dies?

Another victim of the infamous GM AFM system problems.  (Bad lifters scarring the cam and excessive oil usage.)

You won't hurt anything by driving it til it dies, except for the excessive oil usage might plug up your catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, and it will probably progressively run worse until it quits.
