I have the Bose system.  I’m not convinced there’s a sub in the center console seeing as all of the bass comes from the door speakers.  Anyway while listening to a bass heavy song on the radio I’ll notice the bass goes from kind of soft to real deep and nice then back to kind of soft again, almost like it’s dropping out all within the same song.  Anyone else notice this with their Bose system?

Can’t say I’ve noticed what you describe, but I added the Kicker sub so my system is different now. There is a Bose “sub” in the console but it’s 4” and basically pointless.

Test with an aux source like an iPod/usb/mp3/phone and see how it sounds.  I've noticed that music sources like that are the best test of the function of the factory sound systems compared to AM/FM/Sirius XM.

With the phone connected with Bluetooth the bass does not drop out.  Only with the radio it does ?.  The HD signal on the radio is consistently on while it is going in and out.  On the reel is that the 200 watt system by chance?  I was thinking about ordering it myself.  I read the forum on it before I posted this and thought it might be a good solution to my issue, but if it’s the way the radio acts maybe it won’t help me.
