Hi everyone! 
 

Im Fred, the new french canadian here ?

 

Im looking for a lift kit for my 2014 gmc sierra all-terrain. On every site we have to choose between Aluminum, Stamped or Cast steel. My left-side upper control arm have a number on it (a sticker). This number is: 2581 2725. Im reading on some website that it is "Forged Steel".... Im lost.. seriously. My main language is french so I need your help guys to find what I need for my futur lift kit.

They look like cast steel. If it is cast you should be able to tap onto it and it will sound solid. If it is stamped, when you hit it you will hear it sound like tapping on your fender. You definitely do not have aluminum, that I can guarantee.

Yeah it sounds solid.... my sierra is a Z71 with rancho shock. I might think that all the z71 are cast steel? Or I may be wrong

put a magnet on it, if it sticks it is steel (also the aluminum are not painted, so they would be silver in color)

They are cast, for sure, as stamped would have seams.

,  you can tell by the fact it has a wide seam line , unlike cast parts have a thin seam line from the moulding process, my truck has the wide seam mouling line on the lower control arm so its forged.

yet in your picture of the upper control arm i see it has the thin casting line. not forged
