Just be careful with the rim choice if you do go that route. The calipers on the new trucks make aftermarket rims a toss if you don't know the specs. Hopefully a place like tire rack or whoever knows that about the offset so the spokes don't rub the calipers.

And the 265/70/17 is okay but your speedo will be off by roughly ~3mph. Or bump up to a 18 and run 265/70/18's for a nearly equal size to the 22's. They make snow tires in that 18in size.

If you don't order the PEC (denali ultimate) package you can get one on 20's

Everything else in the package is available separately -- except the multipro step boards.

You think it will be off by about 3 mph, really? Wow I looked at those charts I posted and the numbers looked so close I almost thought there wouldn’t be any speedo error! I’ll have to keep looking I guess. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, did you plug in the numbers correctly??

Compare 275/50/22's with 265/70/17's and you are 3.7% different and about 3mph off at highway cruising speeds.

No, I must not have. Thank you for double checking that for me.

So, what’s the closest sized tire I can get a decent winter tire for?

In the 17's there won't be much, so I suggested the 18's in a previous post. They make Blizzaks, Hankooks and other snow tires in that size.

As others have said, pick up another set of rims, preferably 18's. Keep an eye on Craigslist or Kijiji for take-offs at a dealer. They're usually dirt cheap and will pay for themselves as opposed to mounting and balancing every six months.

For winter tires, you should consider going narrower than stock, never wider.

Thanks man. I’ll look and see what 18s and Blizzaks come in close size wise.

We just got dumped on here with snow up here in Canada, and I have found the stock tires for the 22's to be adequate with snow.  Obviously not as good as a snow tire like a blizzak, but they do the job.  However, with ice, they are just garbage!

I swapped out my  Bridgestone Aleza`s for some 285/50/22 Nitto Ridge Grapplers  much better tire.

Do those fit on the Sierra with no rubbing or trimming? Have been looking at these too. Thanks!
