Has anyone experienced any check engine lights on their 6.6 l gas. My truck has only 7700 miles on it and went to remote start this morning wouldn’t start. Went to go start it manually and check engine light is on. Truck runs like it has been since day 1. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the issue was if any.

First step is to read the codes that are causing the CEL.  You are under warranty, and the dealer should investigate the problem and correct it at no charge.

If you can't get to a dealer right away, do you or a friend have a code reader?  If not, many auto parts stores will loan them out or come outside and read it for you.  If knowing the codes doesn't allow you to correct the issue, post the code numbers here and I'm sure other members can give you troubleshooting recommendations.  Many codes are OK to continue driving for a while until you can get to a service department.  Some may require more immediate action to avoid a problem on the road.

I drove through a snowy mountain pass one time and got a cel. It was for the lower active shutters being frozen closed and packed with rocks and ice. Had to wash it out and clean out the rocks. Cleared the codes and good to go.

If your OnStar subscription is still active, press the blue button and tell them to run a remote diagnostic and tell you the trouble code number.  Then you can look the error code up on the net.
