Hello all need some help. Today water started dripping on passenger side out of a hose under the condenser as well as seeing the condenser very moist on top. So does not feel like antifreeze.

With this said is my condenser going to crap or heater core maybe?

Vehicle is a 2006 Silverado, 5.3, 85K miles on it.

Need help please.

Thanks in advance.

The condenser is the part in front of the radiator. The accumulator is the part that is bolted to the firewall on the passenger side.

The hose that is on the firewall below the accumulator is for the evaporator and heatercore box. Water will drip out of there if the AC system is being ran because of condensation build up. Even though it's not summer time your AC system will run if the defrost is on because it's pulling moisture out of the air.

You'd smell coolant in the cab if the heatercore went bad and have poor heat as well.

Have great heat, no smell of coolant. Just never noticed the water dripping before. So all normal then?

Yeah, it should be all normal if it's just water.

Look under vehicles more in the summer time if their AC is running, on many it's like a mini river coming out of that drain hose.

Even though you dont think it smells like antifreeze , be sure to check very closely to the quick connect to your hvac system and the hose that attaches to it. I am going through this right now.  I too have never  had a leak, but recently have noticed a little water/coolant under the truck where the hvac radiator/heater core area would be.  I tried to diagnose the issue but couldnt see any visible water leaking.  Turns out after a few hours of driving, there would be ever so slightly mist/spray from the quick connect.  Ive replaced it and so far no leaks. It is a common fail point for these trucks.  Part # for quick connect 800-409 tool to remove it lisle 39400.
