Hello, i have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE with a dead touchscreen. It went totally black while driving, which has happened before. however usually it will come back after shutting the vehicle down and re-starting. Not the case this time. The radio still works, and can be con trolled through the steering wheel controls. But the screen, volume controls and even the CD eject button are all non-functioning. I checked connections on the HMI module as well as the screen and radio control unit. Checked all fuses. Performed reset of radio by pulling the fuse, as well as global reset by touching positive and negative battery cables together (after disconnecting of course). No change in status. I also attempted to replace the HMI module with one purchased from Ebay, however i quickly realized that need to be programmed before it will work. so.... looking for suggestions or options. I have an appointment with my local dealer but that is 3 weeks out. Any help is greatly appreciated... thanks!

There's a guy on ebay who will repair yours.

i dont know if this place has a touch screen but i have used their site before: https://www.gmpartsprime.com/

what i would do if i were you would go enter your vin and try to see if that site gives you a diagram , exploded diagram or some sort of assembly map of the touchscreen area or its peripherals. the reason why i suggest this is you can find what parts go where and have a better idea of the issue maybe. it wont hurt to give it a shot to maybe just get a clearer picture of the issue.

this has helped me when i tried to figure out some minor things like this - the exploded diagrams have really helped me in the past for installations with i had no instructions. also helps that their items are all genuine oem so if i need something i know i can get it and it will fit in my ride with no problems or hassle.
