I just picked up a 2018 Silverado 1500 looking to get a air intake and was leaning towards the SLP blackwing cold air intake since American Trucks did a video on it where it shows the best increase in performance. I was wondering if those claims are true or should I be looking at a different cold air intake?

Don't waste your money.  You will not see enough performance gain on a stock truck to bother with it.  Money would be much better spent on a proper tune and E85 conversion.

intakes will do nothing. all you pay for is looks and more engine noise.

As always, in with the naysayers that regurgitate the "CAI dont do a thing" posts.

OP do you research, plenty of CAI out there that have done reputable dyno testing in lab and on independent dyno's to help you with a decision. I have the Airaid CAI on my 2016 6.2, had it for 5 years now. Back when the K2xx trucks came out BlackBear conducted a same day comparison that showed who the top CAI manufactures were.

The solid ones all produced around 15-20 rwhp gains.
