I have a 2017 Silverado with almost 17,000 miles on it. I recently noticed a rattling/grinding noise when I accelerate, I think it’s the heat shield but I’m not sure why this would already be happening on such a low mileage truck. Also I can’t figure out the source of the problem does anyone have any solutions?

Just guesses, rock trapped in the heat shield casing, or maybe truck is in AUTO, or 4WD.

I have a heat shield rattle too. Only when it's cold. I'm looking for a solution for that too.

I always keep it in 2WD unless the road conditions are bad

The exhaust flapper valve could be making noise too. You could metal wire that thing open to see if the noise stops.
