Hello all.

I own a 2020 Silverado 1500 LT with crew cab and 4WD and the 5.3 L V8. It has the Safety Package I, so it has blind zone alerts. What I want is towing mirrors for towing a travel trailer. I know there are not "officially available" towing mirrors for a 1500 with blind spot monitoring. However, if I'm okay with getting rid of blind spot monitoring can I swap in the towing mirrors anyway? Specifically with towing mirrors would the truck throw an error due to the blind spot monitoring or would I just not have blind spot monitoring anymore?

Current mirrors are heated power adjust, manual fold with the LED lights. Again I don't care so much for the LED lights, but maintaining power adjust and heated mirrors is desirable (the truck is my DD in Wisconsin). Manual extend/retract is fine. Minor wiring mods are fine with me so long as it ultimately works.

Finally, if this is doable, does anyone have the part number(s) I'd need to order to make this work?

Iirc, you'd just need the mirrors and wire harness.  Dealership would need to do a reprogram.  It's almost 2:30am, and I'm in bed, so I'm not going to look up the part numbers.  However, do know that GM does make 1500s with tow mirrors from the factory.  I have one sitting in my driveway.  It has power adjust (upper only), heated mirrors, manual extend, manual fold, and led lighting (to the rear as opposed to the front).

Long time, no update. Do to a divorce, I no longer have the truck, nor travel trailer. However, I must have signed up for notifications from Boost Auto Parts, because I just got an email saying they are LIVE with Chevy & GMC tow mirrors. They are fixed width, 50% of the distance between OEM towing mirrors retracted and extended. Dual upper/lower mirror arrangement like factory tow mirrors. Standard and selectable features include:

  • Power Adjust Upper Glass
    • Memory Equipped (Power Fold Only & truck must have had memory mirrors originally)
    • Plug and play if truck was originally equipped with power mirrors
  • Heated Upper Glass
    • Optional Heated Lower Glass
    • Defrost is plug and play if the truck was equipped with rear window defrost, even if the original mirrors were not equipped with defrost.
  • Manual Folding
    • Optional Power Folding
      • Plug & Play if originally equipped
      • Add feature with wireless upgrade if not originally equipped
  • High Quality LED Lighting
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (only for trucks originally equipped)
    • Compatible With Lane Change Alert & Side Blind Zone Alert
    • Plug and play
  • LED Turn Signal on Glass (Red)
    • Needs Boost Auto wiring harness
  • Integrated Rear Facing Cargo Light (Low Output or High Output)
    • Cargo light needs Boost Auto wiring harness
  • Optional Running Light Functions
    • Needs Boost Auto wiring harness
  • Optional Sequential Signal
  • Start Up Sequence (Sequential Signal & Running Light & Sequential Switchback Only)
  • Optional Forward Facing Spot Light
    • Plug and play if truck had it originally
    • Can be added with Boost Auto wireless control if not
  • Different LED Color Options (White, Amber, Switchback)
  • Fixed Width Design - Optimized for Towing + Daily Driving

Price ranges from $480-$1500 depending on options selected. No reprogramming is needed, the blind spot monitoring just works if your truck originally had it, and the wireless power folding option adds folding mirrors to trucks that didn't have it from the factory. Available in black, chrome, and ready-to-paint, no pre-painted models available.

If I still had my truck, I'd have pre-ordered a set of these already, as these are the tow mirrors Chevy should have offered for sale with the truck, but for some inexplicable reason did not offer if the truck had the safety package that added blind spot monitoring, which is a majority of the non-custom ordered trucks if I understand correctly. Posting here in case others are interested.
