Want to DIY  differential fluid change myself

1. GMC recommends

rear differential fluid 75w 85

front differential fluid 75w 90;

Can I use 75W 85 for the front differential? is it supposed to be better than 75w 90?

And I live in Canada, it can get to -45 celsius in the winter, -10 and below from Nov. to next Apr.

2. How much I need for the front differential fluid change? how much I need for the front?

Thanks guys!

I would consider Amsoil with those temperatures.

Amsoil web site good for capacities.

For your truck https://www.amsoil.com/lookup/auto-and-light-truck/2015/gmc-trucks/sierra-1500-pickup/5-3l-8-cyl-engine-code-c-l83-2/?volume=us-volume

Use 75-90 in both and be done with it. Yes, I'd recommend Amsoil. It's great product and comes in easy to use packaging. If you PM site member Black02Silverado,  he can hook you up and make you a pretty good deal many times

I was out yesterday and Taptalk still isn't working.

Yes as stated just use 75w-90.  It will work just fine even with your extreme cold temperatures.

The front differential takes 3 pints and the rear takes 4.2 or 5.1 depending on which diff you have.

Like stated above you can look up what your truck takes here.

I just did my front and rear differentials last week.  It took just under 5 quarts between the front and rear diffs.  I used the Amsoil 75w-90 product everyone recommends in this thread.
