Does anyone know and what frequency the Chevrolet inventory search feature is updates with new trucks? Is it real time, once a day, once a week etc? I keep finding myself a day late and a dollar short in being able to find an available 2500 despite expanding my radius out to 1,000 miles. Now I realize some of these are customer ordered or something g similar but 5 trucks in a row now I’ve been told if I had called an hour earlier or so I would have had the first opportunity to purchase and I’m tired of being behind the curve. Any insight on the update schedule so I can hopefully get a truck sometime this year?

IDK if this helps.  Must computer systems update at like midnight or 5-6am.  Build codes update from what I gather at midnight on thursday or WED night.

iam very interested in the answer to the same question also. the exact same thing has been happening to me, i have missed 4 trucks by hours within the last 7 days and have also expanded my search out to 1000 miles, added a few different colors and even 2 models to my wish list. i have also noticed that they are not removed very fast either after they are no longer available. there was a truck that i know was no longer available for 2 1/2 weeks  and was still listed as of 2 nights ago.

its looking like i am just going to order a 22 but was trying to take advantage of the current trade values by finding something in transit or in stock.

If I couldnt find anything here soon I would be waiting for  22.  At some point there is going to be a glut of inventory out there.  Theres parking lots of unfinished vehicles waiting for chips.  And you cant sell 21s for 22 money.

Same boat here.  Looking on GMC.com inventory and Autotrader for a 21 because I don't want to wait for a 22 though I am curious to see if there will be any surprises for 22.  I did see a truck just show up on GMC inventory this afternoon that I know wasn't there this morning so I want to think it's daily.  Does anyone know when build and price will be updated for the 22s?  I do have a local dealer set to call me as soon as I can place an order.  That's just in case I can't find a 21 though I'm going to try like hell.

really no changes for 22. multi flex tailgate, some kind of seat belt adjusters and no more brown and a green added. thats it.  i think the biggest surprise for 22 is when can orders be placed? my dealer says 7/1 and when will production start? my dealer says 7/12 and then how long is build time?  nothing is normal as we know it.  but who knows what will really happen . only time will tell and then there are the constraints, what are they? when will they be lifted? it is just plain nuts. id rather order a 22 but if a 21 can be found at least you can see what you are getting. i've been searching 1000 miles ,3 different colors , LTZ's and High Country's in the morning and in the evening and really no luck, but i sure have missed quite a few  and only by hours on some.

I finally got one 1400 miles away, after calling more than 37 dealers where all the listed trucks were customer ordered or someone had already put a deposit down. Perseverance and a lot of it and you can find them. Just get comfortable with a long drive. I put do win a deposit truck should be there within the week. Looks like I can get a plane ticket for $150 and enjoy a 2 day road trip to break it in.

Congrats, Merc!  Out of curiosity what did you get?  Did you find it on the manufacturer website or on something like Autotrader?  Your hard work paid off for sure.

As for the 22s this article confirms the dates that jd64 shared above....https://carbuzz.com/news/we-finally-know-when-the-2022-chevy-silverado-will-arrive which shows production starts 7/12.

JD, did your guy allow you to order the 22 today or did he say when he can actually place the order in the GM system?  I have been waiting to hear from mine that we can actually load it into the system and wait for confirmation that it was accepted but that call hasn't yet come yet for me.  Sorry to hear about your 21 but maybe you'll be happier in the end.

he is reordering the 21 now as a 22. i had to make the decision on the tailgate ,everything else is the same. what he said was he will place the order in the system Saturday and it should be accepted soon,  then we wait for production in mid July, he also said retail sold orders are getting built fist.  he told me last week that he thought the 21 order wouldn't be accepted and that by the middle of this week he would know that for sure and he would also know his 22 allocations.  he seems to call me on Thursdays with updates. i read somewhere that the dealers get their allocations every other Thursdays.        when he placed the 21 order it was on a Saturday and within 15 minutes of me hanging up the phone he text me the preliminary order confirmation along with the order number. I've never met him since the dealership is 300 miles away in Michigan but he sure seems straight up with the communication. i also asked him about constraints ,he asked the sales manager and said there were no constraints on 22 high country's. i could here him checking with the sales manager when he answered some of my questions that he didn't know the answers to. i hope this is all accurate info....    thats what i know so far ,we will see how it unfolds.

this dealership had the same truck on the chevy build and price site. i hit the click and shop button to purchase the vehicle at 10pm on a Wednesday nite, at 9am Thursday morning i found out someone did a deal on it just before they closed on Wednesday nite and i missed it by hours or it would 've been in my garage 3 weeks ago.  i trade my trucks every 2 years and this one has been challenging to say the least.

Sounds like you're well on your way to a new truck!  Also sounds like you have a solid salesman.  Finding one that initiates communication and follows up when they have new information is rare.  Not sure where they are in Michigan but I live near Ann Arbor so if they aren't too far away I would be happy to stop in for you if ever needed.

I was checking it at least once a day, but certainly not incessantly, before I tracked one down. I did see new ones appear daily.

they are in Dowagiac,  iam 50miles south east of Cleveland, right on the Ohio /Pa line about 4.5 hours or so from you and 5 hours from the dealer. a few of my buddies have found and bought trucks in Michigan within the last few months.  good luck with your search, if you don't have any luck where you are let me know and i will give you his contact info, the only experience i have with the dealership is what i have listed so hopefully all the good stuff continues

There is no uniformity on when dealer websites get updated with new incoming vehicles. The dealer buy a website pkg from a GM provider and they determine when its get listed on their site.  Its all depends on what website pkg the dealer purchased but many don't update till the vehicle is in transit from the Distribution Center and not actually from the Assembly Plant.

    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
    • He is not saying that an SAE *W20 will have more viscosity than a *W40 due to MORE VII polymers. He is saying that although multiple *W40 may post in the PDS the same or similar 100 C and 150 C viscosities that the blenders choice of modifier TYPE and AMOUNT to get his chosen base to grade will not give identical real world viscosities in shear and at temperature. All will pass the SII test but not all will pass the 100 C HTHS (unpublished value) testing the blender does and relies on to get the required by law "percentage improvement' referenced to his last great work.    Tis the problem with the lie. Once told others are required to support it.
    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.

REAR AXLE - 3.73 RATIO INC. GVWR, 11,350 LBS. (5148 KG) INC. FRONT AND REAR PARK ASSIST, INC. ULTRASONIC     I have been launching my new boat and noticed some things related to the parking brake.. I usually set the parking brake (habit) when on flat ground for typical driving.    When backed down on the launch ramp to launch the boat and I place gear selector into Park, the parking brake activates automatically. My second nature is to set parking brake manually and noticed I was turing the parking brake off.  The parking brake appears to be setting itself automatically.   I looked all over my owner's manual and only found references to being on an incline and manually setting parking brake, or at times parking brake will be auto engaged, but nothing specific to my situation.    When is the parking brake automatically engaged?  Under what specific circumstances?  Can the auto set parameters be changed?     I like the auto set feature.  It would be nice if always engaged when shifted into Park and released when shifted out of Park (like my wifes 2025 RAV4).   Thanks!
