Have 2023 Silverado with radio sound issues!  Had my Trk 2 days when the sound went out! On a trip.  I listen to XM, you can see music is playing ; but no sound.  Went to FM works fine and AM works fine then back to XM works. Will also play thru my Cell.  Has done this 3 times before today. This morning started up the voice would load then work just like the other times and so play on start up. When starting up 2nd time today no sound from any AM FM or XM and would not not play XM thru cell. Took to chevy house so they could see what was going in because it’s very hard to duplicate!  They did do an update  No Help!  They also told me to delete  My Chevrolet anytime Apple did update. We did and nothing. I can’t even connect to My Chevy  other than today at Service Dept!  I go and drop off 24 Jan 23 and see what happens! Stay tuned!

I get this issue occasionally. except all my audio inputs do not play sound. All the digital display indicated that they are functioning and sound should come out. I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with the lane keep assist alert. The keep assist alert when working normally completely cuts out any music playing and sounds the LKA alert. I am guessing this random music muting happens during a LKA alert triggering. I have to completely shut the truck down and let the infotainment system finish its normal shut down before starting the truck again. Everything works as normal after that.

I have a 2023 Silverado and same thing happens to me went to start the truck no sound from anything not even gps and re started it a bunch of times nothing then went inside for a few came back out it was fine seems to be happening for often last time it happened I pulled the radio fuse and put it back and it worked not sure why it keeps doing this but it’s annoying it’s not like these trucks are cheap and dealing with stupid shot like this.

I have a truck that’s less than two weeks old, and the system has stopped playing any audio four times over this period. Audio plays for about ten seconds before all sound that comes from the infotainment system stops. Turning the truck off, opening the door, and waiting about five minutes does the trick every time. It is always a problem four or so days later.

 

I really don’t like the idea of the dealer poking around on my truck with less than 600 miles on it, but im

out of ideas, and very disappointed.

 

Has anyone had this issue resolved?

I have this same issue. It waited about 7 months before the first time, then about 2 months, now twice this week. GM is stumped even when I show them a video. Did you ever get to a resolution?

When this happens, hold down the steering wheel mute button for up to 30 seconds. Your radio will shut down and after a few seconds it will reboot  back up and sound will work fine. Saves having to shut the truck off and kill the power.

Good to know. I have had this happen on my new 23' Sierra also.

I just got back from the dealer for this issue. Apparently gm knows about it and believes it has something to do with the Google interface. Right now the engineers suggestion is to make sure your Google account is logged in. They said the engineers are working on a fit but nothing for a TSB resolution yet.

I just bought a new 23 Silverado about 2 months ago, and this annoying issue happens to me probably about 1 out of 10 times. It fixes itself when I go into settings and restart the infotainment in "safe mode", but I can't do that when the vehicle is moving (UI doesn't let you), and when this happens while I'm on the freeway I'm screwed since I can't just stop the vehicle.

 

It's very annoying and ruining my otherwise great experience with the truck.

This happens to me frequently on 23 Silverado.  I find that changing to Sirius XM and changing to a different preset cause infotainment to "unmute" ... definitely buggy.

I am having the same issue. No Audio display no sound from radio or sd card. Display on instrument panel shows searching symbol. I have no safe mode option in settings. How are you guys getting to safe mode?  Android  audio is working correctly.

      Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.

      No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.

      Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.

      I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
