mass air went bye bye

well my Z06 mass air went south. am going to have to get another one. put in a granatelli for now but she isnt running as good. will have to wait. got beat last night by a fellow chevy driver, man i need to get another one.

Help me out here. You had a Z06 MAS installed on the truck? The same MAS that goes on the Z06 vette? Didn't think that would work. What do they cost? I know my Ganatelli didn't seem to make a difference but then I didn't change much of anything else on the truck either.

yes i did have one. and will again. it goes higher in flow i think.29.98 for the granatelli. if i remember correctly my Z06 went highter, i have another one on the way and i will give exact specs

anywhere in particular you bought your ZO6 MAF or just found one off a vette? I'd like to go to a local junk yard and find one if you say it works well?

yeah, i went lookin and saw one there also did you descreen yours? From what i here, descreening doesn't help at all, and infact may decrease a bit of hp.....? Mine is descreened but i cant tell either way if it helped or hurt...

actually the Z06 mass air comes descreened from the factory. gm descreened it themselves.

granatelli---------29.98

stock with screen--28.92

Z06-----------------34.08

i did several runs and these are the numbers they posted up the most.

these reading came at wot at around 5800 to 5900 rpms when i am getting rady to shift.yes it is a direct bolt on.

25341604 is the part number i have orderedfrom gm parts direct. and if you look it up you need to look it up for the 2002 or 2003 corvette. and lyndon can tune a little for it also. allen tuned mine and it is awsome.dont know if it is just my set up but mine is working out great for me. and it does work better for me than a granatelli. good luck man.keep me posted how it works if you get it.

If I put this on my stock 04 5.3, do you think I would be able to tell any performance gain?

from how it sounds. i think you might need a tune, to program it in, before you can tell a difference.

not sure if you will be able to tell right away. i did gain a difference before it was tuned in. but it will not hurt and it is gm.

Is it the same diameter as the 8.1? Any idea if it would work well for that application?
