Just get some type of protector cleanant in a spray, such as "Armor All Protectant Ultra Clean". You may have to apply a couple a few times, but the cleaner part helps lift the wax off and the you get protection also.

This is also good on your door gaskets, also.

I first used this product when I purchased my flares (not painted0. The first time I used it, I got a chalky residue and about freaked. Then I realised the cleaner was lifting the crud out of the flare's plastic. I applied again, wiped the flare, and the residue was nearly gone. The third time I did this, the crud was totally off.

I did this about six months ago and the flares still look good.

This product is very good in any of your plastics and keeping them appearing as if new, such as the wiper and cowling black plastic.

Anyway, this has been my experience and I can guarantee there are other solutions but I'm sure they are similar.

Tried smoe Mother's Back To Black this past weekend. Works good on plastic and removing the overwax. Really restores the color and cleans.

Pencil eraser.

Going to second that one. I've shown that trick to quite a few people and they have all been equally stunned by it.

Most of those products just cover it up, it doesn't remove it. Just go in w/ the eraser and have at her.
