Reaching out to see if anyone may have encountered this problem. 21 Sierra 1500 AT4, key fob as well as app will work every function of truck remotely but will not recognize fob to allow pushbutton entry or start. Only way to start truck is to put fob in center of cupholders and service department is currently at a loss.

CR2032 is the battery used.

They are cheap and readily available.

I'd also try that first.

Change instructions are in the OM

I had this same issue a few weeks ago on a 21 Silverado RST.  I just changed the batteries in both fobs and haven't had a problem since.

I have recently had the same problem. I had just installed manual switch on my AMP power boards. The door was open for a long time while I was doing this. I have read other post about windshields being tinted with similar problem. There thoughts were that a sensor was getting wet and drying out because after 24hrs the problem righted itself. I believe it has something to do with the time the doors are open. I initially got remote not detected and then service steering column lock. I have replaced both batteries in my remotes. Neither are recognized. I have tried to reprogram both remotes 3 times with no resolve.  It has been 3 days since the issue started so no resolve after 24hours. Truck starts and remotes work by manually pushing the buttons, but i have to place the remote in the cupholder to start my Truck. I have a dealer appt in 10 Days. I will keep you posted.

Keyless entry (button on the door handles) uses a separate antenna in the center console...different from the antenna that handles the button functions on the actual key fob itself. Maybe there's an issue with this? Push button start is separate though, I believe.

I swapped my center console earlier, and while I had my center console out, my door buttons wouldn't work, but everything else worked just fine.

Have you tried changing the batteries on the fob like other have suggested or trying to use your spare fob?

That is the only post he made (sept '21) and he hasn't logged in since Oct '21.

Probably not getting a response.
