Lost of power steering radio turning off

Hello I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my truck. I been losing power steering when parking the last couple of month. The worst part the other day I was driving on the freeway going 70 mph and my stereo went dark and got alert power steering disabled driver with care. This happened for about 2 to 3 seconds it was a little scary. Has any one had this issue. Where you guys able to fix it? I don’t really want to get rid of my truck but it’s a little scary when you have your 3 month old in that back and this happens.

It is most likely the electrical connections at the PS rack. The connectors are exposed to the rain water and road spray and can get corroded. There have been numerous recalls with the latest being for 2015 Colorado and Canyon. All of the electric PS racks are similar and share the same problems. You can clean the connectors and add some Dielectric grease to the older connectors, but the dealers have more permanent connector repairs available.
