Does anyone know what length the factory front shocks are for a 05 Silverado 1500 crew cab? At the auto parts store they say I need to measure them somehow because there are different size ones available for this model.

Take your VIN down to the local GM dealer, ask the parts department to look up the shocks for your vehicle's VIN. Take those GM p/ns down to a PROFESSIONAL parts store besides the one you went to (they should have told you this) and have them cross the numbers or cross them your self on Amazon or your favorite shock maker's web site.

The standard replacement shock from AC delco is #530301 from my searching. It asks nothing about length or anything. That is for a 4WD truck.

 

Fits 2000-2006 half ton and 2007 classics as well as Avalanche and Tahoe/Surburbans.
