Do you have an active account? If so, you have to call Onstar to cancel the account. Use the blue button. Same for voice reminders. It's a pain in the ***. They will try to get you to stay.

Just as an aside. My wife just cancelled OnStar in her 2014 Impala. She said the person on the other end kept trying to get her to stay connected. Wife finally got mad enough she raised her voice and told them to stop the account. They got the message.

I got a notice that our 2012 Cruze that OnStar will not be available shortly due to the switch over to 5g. If we wanted to keep using OnStar then they will be offering an adapter that plugs into the OBD port.

They also said it would effect up to 2014 model vehicles.  I remember this same issue on my 2002 Silverado. It had old tech and the newer systems moving forward didn't allow it to be used.

I had an issue, NEVER SIGN UP FOR ONSTAR. NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR CARD. Takes mins to setup, takes hours to cancel and they still might charge you.
