Koolassnow Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 I bought an OEM front license plate bracket from GM for my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 but it does not lineup up on the bumper. The bracket (part # 22763523) is said on the website to fit my truck but does not sit flush in place. It seems to be wider than the space given. Has anyone else experienced issues with this installation or know of something I may be missing or doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help. Also if you know of any install vids please let me know. Pics included
mikeyk101 Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 (edited) From what I'm looking at, it looks like it has the cutouts that fit over those 2 little extensions. It may not be supposed to fit flush. I know you probably tried but what happens if you flip it upside down? Edited November 15, 2021 by mikeyk101
Koolassnow Posted November 15, 2021 Author Posted November 15, 2021 Yes I flipped it upside down and none of the holes aligned that way either. The bracket is actually wider than the space on the bumper which is the other thing that has me kind of questioning it.
mikeyk101 Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 (edited) Can you show a picture of it sitting on the bumper? On mine although it is a different setup, the holes on the bracket didn't line up with and holes on bumper. It just used screws that go through the plastic but hold really well. If when in place, the holes match up with bumper plastic without a gap, that may be the way it goes on. Edited November 15, 2021 by mikeyk101
Koolassnow Posted November 15, 2021 Author Posted November 15, 2021 Here is a pic of it sitting on the bumper. Notice how it gaps on the sides. 65871250901__57D030D8-AA1A-4320-8214-B4C4E801A22D.MOV
Koolassnow Posted November 15, 2021 Author Posted November 15, 2021 I don’t think the vid uploaded but here are a few pics.
M1ck3y Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 (edited) It looks like the silverado shares the same part #. Fits the silverado contours great, for some reason gmc was an after thought. Nobody will notice but you. I'm assuming those two little indentations on your bumper are where the screws go through. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/156307-those-with-front-license-plates-on-gmc-sierra/ Edited November 16, 2021 by M1ck3y 1
