2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Battery Fuse Block Issue

Hello,

 

   Got an interesting problem and was wondering if anybody here has any knowledge and or ideas. Attached are pictures of the green connector that attaches two wires from the internal wiring harness to the fuse block on top of the battery. Long story short that same green connector on my truck got damaged and now I just have the two wires. I went to the stealership and asked if it was possible to buy a connector alone or even another harness that had the same connector. The only option they gave me was to buy the full internal wiring harness which was close to $500.

 

   My first thought is to just use blade connectors which look like they will plug into the existing number 9 slot on the battery fuse block, which is where the green connector went, however my understanding of electrical connectors is very limited. As far as I am aware electrical connectors are used to secure a connection of wires as well as keep wires from shorting out on each other. I am not sure if there is any other design of the connector like a certain electrical resistance or something.

 

    My second thought is to keep searching junk yards for a truck that has it but unfortunately since its only 5 years old and there is only 1 green connector of this type per truck from my understanding, it is quite hard to come by.

The only option they gave you was because they were too lazy to find the other one.

 

Part #19329484 is the connector with terminated leads.  Retails for $63.64.

You must know that they could be working hourly with a bonus plan, and yes they could put much time in to find what you want. 

Im thinking "newdude " has some contacts or experiance and has helped you alot! 

I was just browsing some Delphi sites, ebay etc and saw many connectors. newdude is the man and did all the leg work. 

Newdude parts guy? tech at a dealership? or someone that makes the connectors or works for GM? I use to have a app that made GM connectors and terms and just clicked on it and its no longer active.

I couldn't agree more! Newdude is the man for sure. I am blown away not only did he show the exact part I need but included the part number as well. I spent hours searching "2017 chevy fuse block connectors" "GM Connectors" "Fuse block connectors" etc. But I just could not find anything that would work! Seriously props to him 100%

Hey thanks for finding those guys! I went with GMpartsstore.com. Price was $37.92 and had the fastest shipping from what I saw. 6 to 8 days out with expedited, ordered from them before and they delivered 2 days early so hopefully they repeat that. And again, Newdude is the man! Seriously awesome and still grateful lol.

Hey guys, so I know I am reviving and old post here.  However, I am looking for this same pigtail, which appears to be unavailable or at least on backorder.  But in addition to that, I have a single pin green connector that plugs in next to this one that I also need, which it seems like a lot of these trucks do not have.  I cannot find the GM part number for that other connector.  For a '17 2500 HD 6.0.

      Get the 5.3. I`m not a Ford guy.😉   I think these L84`s are less problematic than the L83`s. Certainly less than the L87.

      I have finally paid off my mortgage and can now purchase a new truck. I would greatly appreciate any opinions on the purchase of a new 2026 GMC Denali 5.3L or 6.2L with the Denali reserve package. I am not interested in the 3.0L.  Or should I go buy a Ford?   Thank, John

      One of the few things I enjoyed about my time in the midwest was taking off on weekend drives. Unlike home, where we are boxed in by mountains and water, those rules don't apply to the inland plains. Roads connect and sprawl everywhere. While Minnesota is flat, it's not completely featureless and there are fast moving rural roads with curves and slight elevation changes. I used to relish heading out in a particular direction with no set destination, no curfew, and weaving through little townships, wherever the roads would take me. Along farms, lakes, or through the deciduous trees... It was beautiful in its own way, and the seasons were so distinct there. Fall drives yielded amazing shows of color and contrast. Summer drives rewarded with the and amber evening glow of the prairie (and lots of juicy bugs).    I do a lot of that here in my home state too. But it's much less mysterious/intriguing. I've traveled most roads in the region, and every road that's fun to drive within a good radius of my house. But every drive, even on the same old roads, is still enjoyable. I know where I can lean hard into the throttle or really throw the car into a curve. There are exercise loops for when I just need to keep certain cars limber, and much longer routes to settle in and enjoy a drive and put some miles on. All the mountains and water make for some really awesome roads for spirited driving. But not all my driving is spirited, for example, that's not really enjoyable in my pickup or this Blazer (that's still here...).   Sometimes a good drive is followed by a ritualistic wash before tucking the car away...

      'GMAuthority' is reporting the 2027 HD's will have the L8S 6.6L gasoline V-8.  There was some talk here about the L8S awhile back.  Not sure what changes it will have now as it seems the 2027 emissions regulations have changed from what was originally proposed.  The big question will be is L8S just a stopgap for the last 2 years of the current T1 HD platform or will it carry forward to the next generation 2029 T1-2 HD's?    I assume the L8S will still be a Gen. V engine.

      New engines will still be using DEF. You just won't have the limp modes occurring when you run out of DEF now.
