I would like to know what Chevy is going to do about the the block heater cord recall, tonight is going to be -38C, it’s been cold for quite some time now and it’s not nice trying to start a vehicle when it’s that cold! They should extend the warranty or even better yet, Fix the problem! But they should do something to compensate the problem!

Wow! That's some kind of cold! Where?

I wouldn't get too excited.

If you're worried that it won't start, just run it for a while before you go to bed.

It will start in the morning. This isn't 1980.

I'm on several FB groups and have seen numerous posts on individuals starting their new diesels in these extreme conditions with no issues.  Diesels have come a long way and as long as you run a quality synthetic oil starting will be just fine.  I know having it plugged in helps with getting it warmed up quicker.  But until gets things straight on the heater cord there isn't much you can do.

Does this recall affect the cords for the 20 3.0? I haven't heard of any recall. Don't use mine much but it is nice to start truck and have instant heat.

I’m in red deer Alberta, this morning is -38 with the wind chill!

it’s cold!

this is my first new diesel, it’s 3 years old now, had it from new in 2018! But still paying over 100 grand for a truck, you want things to work as they are supposed to or be fixed as soon as possible!

happy new year!
