So, I bought a new intake for my AT4. And I assume a new intake tube isn't suppose to have a big dent in it? I thought maybe for clearace sake, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. Anyody with a S&B intake that can chime in? See attached pic.

Pretty sure that is a designed relief for clearance purposes.

In all the install videos I watched, I didn't notice it, but you're right! I just watched another one and noticed it plain as day. Nothing is mentioned about it on their website or in the instructions, so I wasn't sure. I appreciate the info. It didn't seem like it needed any extra clearance on mine though. I had plenty. But, good to know it's normal. Thanks again.

Anytime sir, glad to help!  Nice choice of intake by the way!  I had one on my '19, but I tried the Roto-Fab on my '21.

Ya mine is same way as well. Nice find “@lapoolboy”. How are you liking your Roto-Fab?  Their products seem to be made very well.

@Nick__ You like the S&B intake so far?  I’m on my second one now and really like the quality, materials used, and fit/finish.

The K2 trucks intake was a bit more factory/traditional looking.  The T1s are just massive, beefy, and “in your face” looking. I’ve gotten used to it.

I really like the Roto-Fab.  The fit and finish is superb.  It just looks more refined and thought-out than the S&B.  Little things like how the plastic air inlet tube is much smoother and better-looking on the Roto-Fab.  The filter is also easier to access/remove on the Roto-Fab.  I didn't like how the S&B required swiveling the intake tube up and just ripping the filter out of the housing/rubber grommet.  Nit-picky I know, but between the two, I like the Roto-Fab.  It also left room for the Pulsar LT to install and tuck neatly down out of the way with the new mounting bracket they are now including.

I do like it. But I installed an exhaust a day later, so I can't really hear the intake anymore lol. I didn't really see much improvement in MPG, but it does seem to make the truck more responsive...and certainly cleans up the engine bay nicely.

It could be for clearance, but it's also there to help air navigate the corner more efficiently (turn is very sharp). If it was left at its full diameter the inside turn would see low pressure/high velocity and the outside would experience high pressure/low velocity. Generally you want the point of highest velocity to be in the center of the pipe, and this brings it closer to that profile.
